We know not to whom the title refers. The obvious choice is our human protagonist, bespectacled, mired in hubris and forgotten dreams. Yet a tiny dog glares at us, unrelenting; as if to say, "Look at me! I am your reality." The simple border contains a scene reflecting our own inescapable barriers and self-imposed limitations. A tranquil mountain setting turned ominous and foreboding when juxtaposed in this dramatic tableau.
A meeting of chance?
Or of destiny?
